Prep day #1

Hi Ho, Hi Ho...

Well I've had my first day of work and alot of things hapened. Starting by having a rousing breakfast of "Fitness" cereal followed by a long traffic jammed drive to the BUFO studios.

I met my first AD, Tony and we discussed how crazy it is to try and shoot a movie in 18 days. We also "froze" the script, meaning it now has locked scene numbers.

I went on a bit of a wild goose chase with Bobby to look at some locations which really didn't work out, came back to the studio and had some Bulgarian casting conversations and finally went out with Ivo and Bobby to a location that was great. It's an old military base and I couldn't help but wonder what the communist soldiers there would have thought about a crazy American poking around wildly 40 years in the future. Kind of creepy too... there were land mine manufacturing and storage facilities, weapons houses and other nasty surprises! I think we're going to shoot there.

Walking through the forest, I found a "european legless lizard" and strangely enough, while deeply inside the perimeter of this seemingly remote and restricted place... I got a good morning call from Rebecca, Siena and Riquel all the way from California. That was Great!

Finally I came home and went to my local "supermarket"... Fantastico (read the sign, if you dare). Well off to my homework for the night... I owe Tony a shotlist... That should be easy... (not). I am still awake though and feeling like I'm getting close to adjusting.
