Shoot day #3

So this is what sleet is, huh?

So far we're 3 days in and probably a half day behind. We got through most of what we owed yesterday and a couple of todays more complicated scenes but we missed quite a bit of what we were hoping for. Challenges are mainly caused by the extremely short shooting day. The added darkness of the forest means we can't comfortably shoot wide until around 9AM and we need to be done by 4PM. Subtract an hour for lunch and we are left with about 6 hours (1/2 a day). We've been able to shoot close-ups, maybe a half hour before and after but there's quite a bit of concern about how well those will match.

Look how bad a shape my driver Ivo (playing the post bat attacked "Sergi") is in!

On top of all that... we have had snow, rain, sleet and full blue sky blazing sun. All during the time it takes to shoot a single scene that is supposed to look coherent. It's snowing right now and I'm fully expecting to get to the location tomorrow morning to find it blanketed with a lovely fresh coat of brilliant white snow.

An additional fctor is that we're trying to shoot scenes with 7 actors that all have something complicated to do, dialog, effects like squibs, crazy make up and stunts. Tuesday we had a horse that changed it's mind on where it would walk (or gallop in one case) every take.

I'm sure not stumbling on lots of good luck so far... or maybe I am and things would be even more mixed up!
